Newbury BID to host Dino Day this Half Term

Newbury BID to host Dino Day this Half Term

Newbury Business Improvement District (BID) will keep the little ones entertained this Half Term as it hosts a ‘roarsome’ Dino Day on the 16th of February, packed with fun activities for Newbury kids.

This free dinosaur day event, organised by Newbury BID, the not-for-profit organisation behind the Visit Newbury brand, will undoubtedly draw in the crowds in Newbury Town Centre, offering three jam-packed hours of fun and entertainment. Not only will the event include arts and crafts activities for children, but it will feature a T. Rex fighting an Ankylosaurus alongside amazing music and sound effects to immerse the whole family to participate in 45-minute long workshops.

Kids will also be able to spend time petting baby dinosaurs, with Rangers taking them close to the crowds, and the chance to watch a dinosaur’s egg hatching live, soon to be reunited with her large mum Nancy the Raptor. To finish the show, guests will have the opportunity to meet an adorable prehistoric creature called Sally the Smilodon – ideal for Half Term selfies!

Children participating in the event will receive a memento to take away, and that’s not all: there will be dinosaur eyes and footprints to find all around town. Follow the trial and see how many dinosaurs you can explore along your journey into Newbury Town Centre.

Speaking of the event, Alison Drummond, Operations Manager at Newbury BID, said: “From the terrifying Spinosaurus to unpronounceable Pachycephalosaurus, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at Dino Day at the Kennet Shopping Centre. We’re looking forward to seeing little ones have fun, make memories, and spend time in the heart of Newbury.

“With so much to do in Newbury, from the Charter Market and Kennet Shopping Centre to High Score, Corn Exchange, Donnington Castle, and restaurants like 7 Bone Burger Co and Blues Smokehouse, families can enjoy a whole day out in our town this February.”
