Newbury's Christmas Lights
Newbury Town Hall
Visit Newbury throughout December and early January and enjoy a fabulous display of festive lights to get you well and truly in the Christmas spirit!
Each year, we organise a special switch-on event in Newbury’s historic Market Place, which usually takes place towards the end of November, with the Mayor of Newbury leading a countdown to the magic moment. Check out our Events section to keep an eye on the date for this year’s festivities!
The Market Place is home to Newbury’s impressive 30+ foot Christmas tree, and twinkling lights can also be seen in Northbrook Street, Bartholomew Street, Cheap Street, Market Street, The Broadway, and London Road. Newbury’s festive Clocktower is also a must-see, lighting up The Broadway and bringing a smile to the faces of passers-by.
Parkway Shopping also put on a fabulous annual Christmas display, including giant illuminated Christmas baubles and swathes of fairy lights. You’ll also find an extra special festive treat within their shopping area – in past years they’ve had a Santa’s Grotto and even a festive, brilliantly constructed Lego window.
