Newbury's Christmas Lights
Visit Newbury throughout November, December and early January and enjoy a fabulous display of festive lights to get you well and truly in the Christmas spirit!
Each year, we organise Newbury’s festive town centre lighting, alongside a special switch on event in Newbury’s historic Market Place, which usually takes place mid-November. The event spreads out across the whole town centre, with free activities, events, live music and more throughout the day, leading up to the moment the town is lit up ready for the festive season, usually joined by a special guest or two! Check out our events page to keep an eye on the date for this year’s festivities.
Newbury’s Market Place is home to the town’s impressive Christmas tree, and twinkling lights can also be seen in Northbrook Street, Bartholomew Street, Cheap Street, Market Street, The Broadway, and London Road. Newbury’s festive Clocktower is also a must-see, lighting up The Broadway and bringing a smile to the faces of passers-by.
Parkway Shopping also put on a fabulous annual Christmas display, including giant illuminated Christmas baubles and swathes of fairy lights.
Newbury really brings the magic over the Christmas period, with local businesses and community groups hosting a huge range of festive events!
