Newbury Vegan Market returns for summer

Vegan Summer Market

Don’t miss the Newbury Vegan Market summer special this August!

On Sunday 21st August, we will be delivering the Newbury Vegan Market summer special in partnership with market operators, Vegan Fairs Ltd.

The seasonal event is free for visitors to attend and will take place in the Market Place between the hours of 10am and 3pm.

Taking place once a quarter, the highly anticipated market brings in vegan (and vegan-curious) visitors from regions near and far to enjoy all things plant-based, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free.

This summer special market will bring popular ethical and vegan brands to Newbury alongside a list of new and exciting traders including The Vegan Diner – offering authentic American recipes turned vegan, artisan vegan cheese stall Sophie’s Delight, sweet and savoury bakes from The Witches Kitchen, and gourmet vegan dining from Viva!

Summer market

Newbury-based Wabi-Sabi Yoga Shala will also be attending the event for the first time alongside several other non-foodie stalls, such as sustainably focused Thatcham Refillable, environmentally friendly cleaning brands Clean Living International and CG Living Eco Cleaning, and Charlotte Manser Ceramics, to name but a few.

All 30 plus stalls attending will be joining Newbury’s already impressive list of vegan-friendly venues in the town centre open for business before, during and after the market.

Independent eateries such as Indian restaurant Indigo Bay and KhonKaen Thai Cuisine on Bartholomew Street – Newbury’s fully independent quarter – join national favourites such as Bill’s and Pizza Express (and shortly Zizzi Italian) to offer impressive vegan menus in the town centre.

Additionally, Weavers Walk Coffee Shop and The Flowerpot Café – winner of ‘Best Breakfast in Newbury’ – are two independent vegan brunch spots not to be missed found off the high street at Weavers Walk and the hidden gem, Inches Yard, respectively.

Furthermore, many shops including ‘Best Retailer of British Beer in the South’ and ‘Best Craft Alcoholic Beverage Retail Enterprise 2022’ award-winners Inn at Home, alongside Newbury’s very own independent health store Natures Corner, Grape Tree Foods and Plum & Grain, all boast an array of vegan-friendly products.

Alison Drummond, our Operations Manager, says:

With so many exciting new and existing traders signed-up to the Newbury Vegan Market summer special, we’re confident that this will increase town centre footfall even more so than usual.

Additionally, our new and updated Newbury Vegan-Friendly Maps are due to be launched soon as part of our Newbury Town Trail map series, helping visitors to recognise Newbury as a go-to vegan destination outside of market day.

If we can encourage even a quarter of market attendees to return to Newbury in between specific event days, then we’re achieving our aim to support our local businesses and successfully raise Newbury’s profile.
