Newbury BID Announces Deal to Continue Newbury Artisan Market

Newbury BID (Business Improvement District), the not-for-profit organisation behind the Visit Newbury brand which was established by local businesses for local businesses, has announced the renewal of its agreement to continue the highly acclaimed Newbury Artisan Market.

The deal solidifies the commitment of Newbury BID to support the vibrant arts and crafts community while fostering economic growth in the town.

The Newbury Artisan Market has become a staple event in Newbury’s cultural calendar, offering visitors an immersive experience that celebrates the talents of local designers, creators, makers, and bakers. This vibrant market showcases the finest seasonal food and artisanal produce, ensuring an unforgettable shopping experience for residents and visitors. The monthly market will host its next event on Sunday, 30 July, on Northbrook Street.

“We are thrilled to announce the extension of the Newbury Artisan Market,” said Alison Drummond, Operations Manager, Newbury BID, said. “This market is not only a platform for local artisans to showcase their incredible craftsmanship, but it also brings together the wider community, encouraging a sense of togetherness and pride in our town.

“The market has become a significant attraction, drawing an estimated 300,000 visitors to the heart of Newbury each year.”

With over 60 carefully curated artisan stalls, visitors to the Newbury Artisan Market can explore an array of unique and high-quality products. From handcrafted jewellery to bespoke home decor, visitors will discover a diverse range of goods created with passion and expertise. Additionally, the market offers a variety of internationally-themed street food vendors, providing a culinary journey for food enthusiasts.

Visit Newbury offers startups and independent businesses across West Berkshire to apply for one of two free pitches, allowing them to trial commercial trading at Newbury Artisan Market. The scheme, open to all BID members, is supported by market operator LSD Promotions. Interested businesses should reach out to Alison Drummond via email at Alison@newburybid.com.
