The Newbury Road Club centenary exhibition is underway at the West Berkshire Museum, but cycle clubs have been busy in Newbury for many more years.
Dr David Portwood has been a club cyclist for nearly fifty years and a member of Newbury Road Club for over thirty. The last few years Dave has been researching the history of cycle clubs in Newbury as part of the centenary celebrations of the club in 2025.
This talk will give a short history of cycling clubs in Newbury with particular emphasis on the Newbury Road Club from its formation by the Bance brothers to the active and busy club it is today.
Entry to the museum and the talk are free, but you are requested to pre-book your seats via the link below.
Bookings close at 4pm the day before the talk.
