Newbury Markets
Newbury was first mentioned as being a town with permission to hold a market and fair in as far back as 1079, almost 1,000 years ago. It’s a tradition that the town has nurtured and maintained and there are now a number of wonderful Newbury markets to choose from when you visit.
Every Thursday and Saturday from 9am to 4pm throughout the year, Newbury Town Council holds its weekly Charter Market in the historic Market Place. You’ll find a wide variety of goods on offer, with traditional produce, plants & flowers, craft items, clothing, and local produce. Pick up a freshly baked treat, get your colourful fruit and veg for the week, buy some flowers for a friend deserving of kindness, or grab something hot and tasty for lunch before sitting to devour it in Victoria Park.
On the final Sunday of each month from 10am to 4pm, Newbury’s popular Renartgades Artisan Market sets up along Northbrook Street, Mansion House Street, and Market Place. This is the place to be if you love quality produce, vintage treasures, original art, designer crafts, and sizzling street food, all with a vibrant atmosphere perfect for enjoying with friends and loved ones.
New from 2025, Northbrook Street becomes home to the ACVR Events Antique & Vintage Street Market, where you can shop an eclectic mix of vintage collectibles and upcycled items from seasoned collectors and enthusiasts.
On the first Sunday of each month from 9am to 1pm, the Farmers Market comes to Market Place. Part of the Thames Valley Farmers Market Co-operative, this is the perfect place to pick up high-quality, local, seasonal produce from a range of small producers.
Another market to look out for is theVegan Fairs market, bringing you the very best cruelty free and vegan food and products.
