Eco Friends West Berkshire is proud to host the first-ever Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) protest in West Berkshire, as part of a nationwide day of action to end sewage pollution in our rivers and seas.
This is a peaceful, family-friendly demonstration – no actual paddling experience needed!
Why are SAS protesting? In their own words:
- Sewage was discharged into UK rivers and seas over 464,000 times in 2023
- We’re demanding an end to sewage pollution We want accountability from water companies & regulators
- We support The People’s Plan for Water—a bold call for system-wide reform following the Armitt Review
- Together, we’ll make a strong, symbolic stand joining thousands of others across the UK calling for clean water and environmental justice. Please register to be counted as part of this national protest!
