Visit Newbury, the organisation behind Newbury BID, is inviting families to step into a lunar adventure with the Festival of the Moon Shop Trail.

This family-friendly trail will launch on 15 August and run until 3 September, weaving through some of Newbury’s fabulous shops, including many beloved independents.

To celebrate the Museum of the Moon art installation by Luke Jerram and the wider Festival of the Moon season, participants are encouraged to put on their space boots and explore the town’s lively shopping scene. Twelve space-themed items will be hidden across various shop windows, providing an engaging experience for explorers of all ages.

Official Festival of the Moon trail cards can be collected from any participating shop and are also available to download online here. Those who manage to spot all twelve space-themed items are in for a chance to win outstanding prizes, including a £120 voucher for Orchard Life Midgham (thanks to West Berkshire Council), a Family Ticket to 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park (courtesy of Gardner & Leader) a £50 M&S voucher (courtesy of Parkway Shopping), Vue Cinema Tickets for a family of four, Nando’s vouchers for four, designer Unisex Sunglasses from Valerie Jerome worth £35, a £25 gift voucher for a paddle boarding experience with Blue Lemon Paddle Boarding, a deluxe hamper with lots of yummy treats (courtesy of Gardner & Leader) and 4 x £25 vouchers for participating shop trail shops.

Shops on the trail are located across Bartholomew Street, Northbrook Street, Kennet Centre, and Parkway, with names including La La Vintage, Willow & Blooms, Dogs Trust Newbury Charity Shop, Artisan Handmade, Coffee#1, and more. A full list will be available on trail cards and online here.

Joining the trail is as easy as collecting a card, grabbing a pen, and heading out with the family to enjoy a space-themed adventure through Newbury’s charming town centre.

Participants must fill in their cards fully and return them to any participating shops by 4 September. Winners will be announced on 11 September and can collect their prizes from the Kennet Centre Office, RG14 5EN.
