Corn Exchange Newbury Named Overall Winner of the Newbury Christmas Heroes Campaign

The Visit Newbury team is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of our very first Newbury Christmas Heroes campaign, which received hundreds of heartfelt nominations from across the community.

Following the nominations, 100 incredible nominees were chosen to be honoured with their names displayed on festive baubles adorning the Christmas Tree in Market Place, celebrating what makes Newbury such a special place to live, work, and visit.

Among the inspiring individuals, charities, and businesses recognised, one group stood out for the exceptional number of nominations received on their behalf, and we are delighted to announce Corn Exchange Newbury as the Overall Winner of this year’s Newbury Christmas Heroes Campaign!

“On behalf of the Corn Exchange Newbury team, thank you to everyone who put in a nomination for us – we are delighted to win this award!” says Jessica Jhundoo-Evans, Director of Corn Exchange Newbury.

“We have a brilliant team at the Corn Exchange, who are committed to finding out and understanding what the local community want and need from their local arts venue and then create wonderful programme of shows, events and activities for everyone to enjoy. So, receiving this award is a huge boost to us all, especially during our busy pantomime season. It is fantastic to know that so many of our local community enjoy visiting the Corn Exchange; as a charity every visit does make a real difference.”

Trish Willetts, CEO at Newbury BID, adds “The team at the Corn Exchange are real pillars of our local community. We are so pleased that the public nominations mirror our own excitement and joy at all of the fantastic work Corn Exchange deliver for the people of Newbury year after year.”

Nominees will be offered the opportunity to keep their bauble following the festive period, and Newbury BID will be in contact with them after the tree is taken down.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate and share stories of kindness, resilience, and generosity, and Newbury BID look forward to bringing back the Newbury Christmas Heroes campaign in 2025!
