Kennet Horse Boat
Navigate the Kennet & Avon Canal in style on a horse-drawn boat. Lasting from two to three hours, you’ll be guided gently along the canal whilst enjoying on-board comforts, a well-stocked bar, and the glorious West Berkshire scenery.
Public horse-drawn trips operate seven days a week from Easter to the end of September. It’s best to book in advance to guarantee reserved seats, although you can just hop on if there happen to be any spare!
The narrowboat has space for up to 64 passengers, or 53 if you want to opt for an onboard buffet-style catering option. You can even charter the boat for a private trip, and a live Jazz band can be provided at an extra cost for that special event.
Trips depart from Kintbury Lock, just 7 miles from Newbury town centre. There are plenty of options for travelling to Kintbury from Newbury; stroll along the Kennet & Avon Canal towpath, hop on a train which takes 5 or 6 minutes to reach Kintbury from Newbury railway station, or take a short drive along the A4 towards Hungerford.
