Corn Exchange

This beautiful Grade II listed 19th century building in the very heart of Newbury’s Market Place once housed the town’s corn exchange, which opened for business in 1862 and served the town well until corn trading went into decline. Now managed by the Corn Exchange Trust, a flagship arts centre for the South East opened here in 1993 and is home to a thriving 400 seat theatre, a 40 seat independent cinema, and a popular Kitchen & Bar.
The Corn Exchange attracts high quality artistic performances from globally renowned artists and companies; there’s always something to see, do, and experience here. If you love the joy of pantomime, their annual Christmas production is one of the most popular shows produced each year (look out for their adult only performances!). The theatre regularly welcomes comedians, bands, theatre groups, magicians, community events, dance shows, children’s entertainers, and more, and the cinema puts on a selection of latest releases alongside classic films.
The Corn Exchange’s Kitchen & Bar not only has indoor seating but a large outdoor seating area too, giving customers the perfect spot to sit back, relax and enjoy a pre-show drink and bite to eat, a cup of tea with friends, or a spot of lunch whilst out and about in the town centre.
