Have your say on the PSPO in Newbury town centre

West Berkshire Council would like to hear from those that live, work and visit Newbury town centre in a consultation on the proposed extension of the Newbury town centre Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), which is due to end on 31st January 2027.

The PSPO gives the police additional powers in tackling antisocial behaviour in the town centre, and Thames Valley Police have requested that the PSPO is extended for a further three years.

West Berkshire Council would like to hear in particular whether you think the PSPO should be discharged or extended.

You can find more details, supporting documentation, and information on how to share your thoughts at www.westberks.gov.uk/newbury-town-centre-pspo-review.

Hard copies of the survey will also be available from West Berkshire Council offices and Newbury Library. Alternatively, people can call 01635 551111 and leave their contact details to request a paper copy by post.

All responses must be submitted by Monday 9th November 2026. The final decision on the future of the PSPO is expected to be made in January 2027.
