Visit Newbury Delighted with Crafty Craft Competition Turnout

Crafty Craft 2021 Entries
The deadline for digital Crafty Craft entries has passed and we are delighted to confirm that 70 entries have been received for the competition, suggesting the local community is keen to keep the Crafty Craft tradition alive in any way, shape, or form.

Multiple schools, community organisations, businesses, and residents have submitted mini rafts to show their support for local NHS Heroes, with this year’s competition in aid of the ‘West Berkshire Community Hospital League of Friends’ charity. You can still donate to the cause by clicking the link on our Crafty Craft event page to help the online competition achieve even greater success.

We first announced details of the competition back in February, after moving the annual social event online due to Covid-19.

We have been overwhelmed with the response to the event and can’t wait to share the wonderfully creative entries with the public! Alison Drummond, our Operations Manager, explains,

“We couldn't be happier with the number of entries we have received for our online Crafty Craft event. The commitment we have seen from an array of organisations and individuals only outlines the need for providing free events - in a way that’s safe to do so - whilst highlighting the significance of Crafty Craft within the local community.

We’re grateful that our partners at Kennet Shopping and Parkway Shopping were able to support us by providing prizes for the competition, which helps to incentivise entries and ultimately raise more funds for this year’s chosen charity - West Berkshire Community Hospital.

A video showcasing the entries and announcing the winners will be released on Monday 3rd May at 10am across Visit Newbury’s social media pages @VisitNewbury.
You can view Newbury BID’s ‘Crafty Craft’ page and donate to the cause here.
