On Sunday 30th May, we will be delivering the first Artisan Market in Newbury town centre since before the pandemic began.
We’re delighted to be working with new operators, LSD Promotions – an outdoor event and market specialist – to deliver the monthly event going forward. On the last Sunday of each month, the highly anticipated markets will line the historic market town’s streets alongside Newbury’s independent and national retailers and hospitality venues, also open to welcome visitors to the town.
Preparations are well underway in the run-up to the market’s 10am start this weekend, including implementing Covid-friendly measures, and gathering the final details from traders.
With this in mind, we’re thrilled to reveal some of the new stalls and market traders you can expect to see at this week’s market, alongside many familiar faces from previous years. Stalls include (but are not limited to) foodie–stuffs, such as a Greek-style deli with traditional Baklava, olives, and nuts, Portuguese sweet treats and tarts, Asian cooking sauces, artisan doughnuts, and beef Biltong, as well as a generous variety of cheeses and organic fruit and vegetables.
A wide mix of non-food stalls have secured spots too, including a handmade children’s clothing company, candle and wax melt stalls, wood crafts, framed art, and an independent fleece company, to name but a few. Furthermore, we can confirm that there will be multiple hot food stalls selling something for all to enjoy on the day; from traditional German sausages to fresh vegan pitta breads and heavily-loaded wraps.
Alison Drummond, our Operations Manager, says:
With so many new and existing traders signed-up to this month’s Artisan Market, it’s beginning to feel very exciting now! We’re so pleased with the interest we’ve received and are confident that Newbury BID, alongside LSD Promotions, can successfully deliver an Artisan Market that exceeds customer expectations.
