DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday 22nd October\, Newbury will join towns and cities across the UK in a mass “Glow Ride” as part of Cycling UK’s ‘My Ride. Our Right.’ campaign. The event highlights the need for safer streets and better cycling infrastructure\, especially for women riding after dark. \n​Three local cycling clubs – Newbury Road Club\, Newbury Velo and West Berkshire Spokes – are working together to bring the event to the town. Women cyclists of all abilities are invited to take part in a two-mile ride around Newbury Town Centre and Victoria Park\, helping to “light up the night” while calling for change. \n​Meet at Newbury Market Place from 6.30pm\, dress brightly\, decorate your bike and help light up the night! \nFree to join – but please RSVP via the link below: \nEvent Details \n\nRoute: A fun\, circular 2-mile ride around Newbury Town Centre and Victoria Park\nWho’s it for? SUMMARY:Newbury Triathalon 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Newbury Triathlon is one of UK’s most legendary sprint triathlons. The 38th edition will take place on 7th September\, hosted by Newbury Velo. \nThe Triathlon begins at the newly refurbished outdoor swimming pool at Northcroft leisure centre (there is plenty of on-site parking on the field adjacent to the leisure centre) followed by a bike ride through the surrounding countryside and back into Newbury before a run along the Kennet and Avon Canal. \nOver 400 athletes will be setting off between 8:30am and 10:30am\, and it’s free if you want to head along and support! \nSpectators are welcome to attend the race. There will be a viewing area by the pool for spectators\, please stay on the decked area and follow the guidance of marshals. There will also be plenty of viewing space by the finish line at Northcroft. There will be parking available on Goldwell Park near to the Leisure Centre\, from 6:30am – requested £1 donation to Newbury Rotary Club. \nYou can learn more about the event at the link below.
