Swings & Smiles provide support to children and young people with special needs and their families to help them to feel valued, happy, and included as integrated members of society.
Newbury BID pulled in support from eight town centre businesses to participate in a two-week Easter Egg Hunt for Newbury, which visitors and local families were encouraged to take part in for a £2 donation. Swings & Smiles also delivered three Easter Craft Workshops between the 11th and13th April, which were heavily promoted by Newbury BID as part of their extensive Easter programme.
Swings & Smiles received nearly 300 entrants to the Easter Egg Hunt competition, which boasted an array of eggs-cellent prizes organised by the BID to further incentivise participants.
We are delighted to have supported such an important local charity by raising awareness of Swings & Smiles and raising a significant figure. We couldn’t have done so without the help from our local businesses willing to take part in the Easter Egg Hunt, and our partners at Parkway Shopping and Kennet Centre Shopping, alongside independent businesses Valarie Jerome Optometrists, Cow & Cask Micropub, and local department store, Camp Hopson, as well as other national brands, who provided prizes to support this wonderful cause.
We’re so pleased visitors from across the region visited Newbury to support our efforts for Swings & Smiles and to help raise these important funds.
We have achieved an amazing £758 as a result of our Easter activities in partnership with Newbury BID, which will go towards the charity’s invaluable support to help disabled children and their families.
Without fundraising activities like these, we would not be able to continue our charitable work and help hundreds of families across the region. We are incredibly grateful and want to thank not only Newbury BID, but also the town centre businesses and visitors for their fantastic support.
