Visit Newbury celebrate the return of the Artisan Market

We are delighted to announce the much-awaited return of the Newbury Artisan Market.

From Sunday 30th May, visitors from near and far can experience the sizzling smells of the Artisan Market once again, by attending the market between 10am-4pm on the last Sunday of every month

The market will deliver fresh and exciting artisanal offerings and seasonally produced local dishes, to complement the well-established variety of businesses already lining Newbury’s historic streets. The town has an impressive selection of over 200 independent eateries, boutiques and cafes, many of which will be open on market day to showcase the best of what the quaint market town has to offer.

We’re working with outdoor event and market specialist, LSD Promotions, to deliver the Artisan Market after the previous operators stepped down earlier this year.

Additionally, we’re introducing a new Covidfriendly layout for the market, achieved by dominating a larger area of the town centre to maximise social distancing and ensuring that adequate sanitisation measures are in-place.

Alison Drummond, our Operations Manager, states:

We have been working closely with West Berkshire Council’s Public Protection team, as the health and safety of such activities is paramount and we’re positive that now is the right time to start re-introducing these wonderful and much-loved markets.

Whilst markets have been allowed to operate throughout lockdown, it’s been a work in progress getting our Artisan Market up and running again, but it’ll be well worth the wait. LSD Promotions offer expertise in market operating with over 30 years of experience, and we’re delighted to say that many of our regular traders will be returning, albeit under the new management.

The new team behind Newbury Artisan Market at LSD Promotions are working hard to  ensure that all stalls and traders are COVID-19 risk assessed.

Director of LSD Promotions, Dermot McGillicuddy says:

We’re delighted to be taking over Newbury Artisan Market from the previous operators and are committed to following all government guidance and regulations, as well as being committed to delivering a quality service for Newbury. Along with many familiar faces, we also have some new traders and exciting stalls in the line-up and cannot wait to share these with you.
