Newbury BID announce new and improved website

We are so thrilled to share with you the re-launch of our Visit Newbury website.

Whilst working tirelessly to help non-essential businesses prepare for reopening on Monday 12th April, we were also busy creating a brand-new version of our website to align with the big date.

One of the main goals for reaching this deadline was to enable visitors to easily access business reopening information as second-stage lockdown easing commencedBy significantly improving user-experience, users can quickly navigate the site to find information, most notably, our  ‘Re-Visit Newbury’ page – which you can access here – promoting town centre hospitality businesses reopening hours.

The website, co-branded to suit our business-facing and visitor audiences, is designed specifically to target these two key markets.

The top navigation menu on the Visit Newbury site now displays a ‘Newbury BID’ linkwhich takes website visitors to a separate site in itself – ‘Newbury BID’-  which you can access here.

This site provides a further navigation menu offering ample information about the BIDincluding news, projects and current services, alongside key facts such as number of hereditaments and BID levy value.

Additionally, the ‘BID’ section of the website provides contact details for us all on the BID team and BID Board information, as well as linking up to a Business Directory  of  Newbury  town  centre’s B2B businesses. We hope the Business Directory will become a vital tool for local businesseto quickly locate services provided by other local businesses, which can be easily filtered by type of service.

Furthermore, the Visit Newbury area of the site showcases Newbury like never before. Each page focuses on potential pull-factors to encourage new visitors into the town; from a deeper delve into Newbury’s historyattractions, services and events, to detailed pages exploring Newbury’s accommodation, parking, and directionsmaking it as easy as possible for visitors and tourists to plan their visit and, what’s more, extend their stay.

Melissa Hughes, our CEO of Newbury BID, explains:

We are delighted to share phase 1 of our improved website with you. A lot of hard work and man-hours went into its creation, and we hope that our BID levy-paying businesses, Newbury residents, and visitors from further afield find the website informative and useful.

We’ve seen nearly 5k views of the website since launching on the 12th April, with nearly 10% of users viewing our newly published ‘Reopen for Business’ webpage. Such statistics evidence the need to provide this information to visitors on behalf of our town centre businesses. We look forward to using these insights to create even more valuable content going forward, to keep local residents up-to-date, and to encourage visitors from further afield to visit our wonderful market town.

A website is never complete and our Visit Newbury website will continue to evolve and grow to help tell the story of Newbury and everything the town has to offer. We’re already busy planning the next stages of development – including a very exciting ‘Community Content Competition’ – and further details will be shared soon.
