Save the date for the first themed event of its kind for Newbury!
A glorious three-day Victorian Christmas Fayre will be coming to Newbury this year as part of an enhanced festive offering for the town.
Taking place across the first weekend of December, the fayre is set to include a wide range of market stalls with traders dressed head-to-toe in typical Victorian attire, alongside Victorian-themed roving performers, a period carousel, food courts, staged live music and performances and of course, Father Christmas, helping to make this a truly unforgettable event for Newbury.
Join us at 11am as the Mayor of Newbury cuts the ribbon to mark the official opening of the event on Friday 3rd December. The event will take place between 11am and 8pm on Friday 3rd, 10am – 8pm Saturday 4th December, with an earlier finish time of 5pm on the final day of the event on Sunday 5th December.
Here’s a quick overview of the event:
Friday 3rd December: 11am – 8pm , Saturday 4th December: 10am – 8pm, Sunday 5th December: 10am – 5pm.
Northbrook Street: 50 Festive Stalls, Street Food Court, Live Street Performers and much more!
Market Place: 25 Festive Stalls, Period Carousel, Regular Charter Market (Saturday only), Specialty Farmers Market (Sunday only) and much more!
Bartholomew Street: 25 Festive Stalls, Street Food Court, Staged Live Music and Entertainment, and much more!
PLUS: You won’t be able to miss The Town Crier, Penny Farthing, Victorian Jugglers, Stilt Walkers and Queen Victoria Living Statue!

May we politely remind you not to attend Newbury’s Victorian Christmas Fayre if you have any symptoms of Covid-19, if you have tested positive for Covid-19, if you are awaiting a test result, or if you have been instructed to self-isolate. As an added precaution, we highly recommend that you take a lateral flow test before attending.
Newbury Victorian Christmas Fayre is being delivered in line with West Berkshire Council’s Public Protection guidance, and we strongly advise you wear a mask in crowded settings and/or if you feel uncomfortable.
The Fayre itself is taking place outdoors, but please bear in mind when you visit Newbury for the event that, in light of the new variant of concern, it is currently a legal requirement to wear a face covering in many indoor settings, including the town centre’s shops and shopping centres.
Covid-19 is still prevalent and we ask that you take any necessary precautions and act responsibly.
