DESCRIPTION:Thatcham-based artist\, Sue Lee\, who rediscovered her passion for painting during her battle with breast cancer\, is launching a one-month residency at Howarth’s Gallery in Newbury on Monday 15th September. \nEvery single penny from sales will go directly to Newbury Cancer Care\, a charity providing practical support to local people living with cancer and life-threatening illnesses. \nIt was during Sue’s treatment that she began painting again\, creating vibrant hand-drawn\, handpainted\, mandala-style pieces inspired by nature and different cultures. \nPieces will be available from £45\, with all proceeds donated to Newbury Cancer Care. \nThe gallery will be open from 10am–2pm Monday to Thursday\, and 10am–1pm Friday. \nVisits outside of these hours can be arranged by contacting Claire Howarth at: claire@howarthsgallery.co.uk \nYou can see more by visiting Sue Lee’s Instagram page via the link below.

We’ll update when we learn of a new date! \n  \nNewbury Apple Day is a community-spirited\, volunteer-led event that takes place in Newbury’s Market Place to celebrate the seasonal apple harvest! \nHead along and sample some freshly pressed juice – and purchase some to take home and enjoy later. \nTheir stall is very much a community event and we welcome letting children and adults alike have a go with the apple press. \nIf you’d like to play an active part in Apple Day – either gathering donated apples from orchards beforehand\, or baking some apple-based goodies for them to sell\, or assisting us on the stall\, please do contact the organisers via the event link below. \nThe next Apple Day event will be held on Saturday 4th October\, 2025\, from 9.00am – 2.30pm.
