Newbury’s highly anticipated Festival of Light is returning for 2021 and this is your opportunity to create your very own Lantern for the procession!

Allow professional Lantern-makers to guide you through the creative process to make either a traditional pyramid Lantern out of willow and paper, or a design of your choice, ready to be lit by candlelight and illuminate the sky on procession day- 12th December.

Standard pyramid lanterns take between 1 and 2 hours to make, and the event organisers ask that you are to take your Lantern away with you at the end of the workshop, where you will also be offered instructions on how to further decorate your Lantern at home if you would like.

Fancy getting involved in making one of the giant Lanterns for the Procession? Click here for the Lantern Making Workshop for the Brave workshop.

By attending this workshop you will automatically be given priority to book your place for the lantern procession on Sunday 12th December. You will not receive the code until you have attended the workshop. Once you have received the code you can click here to book your ticket for Festival of Light.
