You will learn how to pierce (cut) silver\, anneal\, texture\, and form silver to craft your piece. You will learn to clean and polish your final piece to create something that is a joy to wear. \nThe Honesty café at the Base is a great venue where you can treat yourself for lunch with your new silversmithing friends after the workshop! \nWhat to bring/wear:\nSilversmithing can be a messy business so please wear clothes that you will be comfortable in\, aprons will be provided. Please wear closed toes shoes and ensure that hair is tied back off your face. There is close work involved in working with silver so if you use glasses\, please don’t forget them! \nA cup of tea or coffee and piece of cake are included in the price of this workshop but don’t forget your water to keep you hydrated. \nBenefits:\nYou will learn the basics of silversmithing to create a piece that you will enjoy wearing for years to come\, or to give to a loved one as a perfect gift. \nWho is your tutor:\nSilversmith Sandra McArdle’s interest in silver jewellery making started many years ago. In 2016 Sandra graduated from the London Jewellery School\, Hatton Garden\, with a Diploma in Silver Jewellery (distinction) and started Sandra McArdle Jewellery. Sandra loves working with silver and semi precious stones to create an object of beauty. She is inspired by the way silver changes and responds as it’s worked on to create that final piece and to be part of that process is so rewarding.
