DESCRIPTION:Learn the art of embossing onto foil with sculptor Flora Gare. \nYou will design your own butterfly wreath by tracing templates\, scoring and cutting the foil to attach to a copper ring. \nFlora is a sculptor inspired by the natural world. She uses copper wire to draw in space\, making delicate sculptures and wall based pieces that contrast the line of wire with the colour and fluidity of ink. \nWhat to expect: This is a great introduction to work working with wire. Guided by Flora\, you will explore handing wire and metal foil to design your own wreath. Using templates\, you will learn how to scoring\, cut and emboss the foil to attached to a copper ring that will create your butterfly wreath to take home. \nWhat to bring/wear: All materials provided. Bring a pair of pliers if you have them to hand. \nBenefits: Wire is a malleable and diverse material that allows you to experiment with different forms and shapes in a creative and spontaneous way. Being lightweight and durable\, it is a rewarding craft that you can grow and develop if you wish to explore you explore the medium further.

Decorate your chosen item with porcelain pens and other craft materials. Take home to display and admire! \nNo need to book\, just drop-in (last entry 15 minutes before the session ends). £2.50 per child. \nPlease dress for mess\, although disposable aprons will be provided. You are however welcome to take your own. \nHouse admission prices apply at Shaw House from 1 April. You can however choose just to pay to do the craft in the Hall. You can still access the gardens and cafe without paying admission.
