SUMMARY:Sue Lee Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Thatcham-based artist\, Sue Lee\, who rediscovered her passion for painting during her battle with breast cancer\, is launching a one-month residency at Howarth’s Gallery in Newbury on Monday 15th September. \nEvery single penny from sales will go directly to Newbury Cancer Care\, a charity providing practical support to local people living with cancer and life-threatening illnesses. \nIt was during Sue’s treatment that she began painting again\, creating vibrant hand-drawn\, handpainted\, mandala-style pieces inspired by nature and different cultures. \nPieces will be available from £45\, with all proceeds donated to Newbury Cancer Care. \nThe gallery will be open from 10am–2pm Monday to Thursday\, and 10am–1pm Friday. \nVisits outside of these hours can be arranged by contacting Claire Howarth at: claire@howarthsgallery.co.uk \nYou can see more by visiting Sue Lee’s Instagram page via the link below.

SUMMARY:Lines of Influence: Twentieth Century British Printmaking
DESCRIPTION:From screenprints and linocuts to wood engravings and lithographs\, this group exhibition at The Base celebrates the artists who helped shape a British print-making and graphic design aesthetic in the twentieth century. \nThe commercial output of artists will be explored\, through examples of illustrations for limited-edition books\, advertising and propaganda designs and product advertisements.
