SUMMARY:Town Walks: A History of Newbury
DESCRIPTION:Explore the fascinating history of Newbury through a series of walks taking place throughout the summer. \nThe walks are led by local history experts providing commentary and answering questions as the walk proceeds. The pace is leisurely and the ground level. \nEach walk lasts approximately 2 hours and starts at the Corn Exchange in the Market Place – aside from the First Battle of Newbury walk which lasts 2 hours 30 minutes and starts at the Bowlers Arms in Wash Common. \nThere will be a maximum of 15 people on each walk. The walks program and leaders are as follows: \n\nTuesday 21st July: A History of Newbury\, Philip Wood\nTuesday 28th July: Northbrook Street People\, Jane Burrell\nTuesday 4th August: Lost Pubs of Newbury (not suitable for children under 12)\, Philip Wood\nTuesday 11th August: Newbury at War\, Jane Burrell\nTuesday 18th August: Northbrook St & Speenhamland\, David Peacock\nTuesday 25th August: Tudor Newbury\, David Peacock\nTuesday 1st September: First Battle of Newbury\, Dave Stubbs\n\nSpaces are limited\, so get in early and book your space via the link below. £10 per adult\, £5 for children under 12.
