DESCRIPTION:This summer\, immerse yourself in nature as The Base’s gallery will be transformed by street artist Katie O! \nCelebrate our local landscape and the creatures that live there\, as you explore the mural adorned walls inspired by the scenery and wildlife of Greenham Common\, which this year marks its 25th anniversary of being reopened to the public. Visitors of all ages can enter this immersive environment and explore Katie’s nature-themed designs around the gallery\, spotting familiar landmarks\, animals\, birds\, insects\, and plants along the way. \nMake your mark on the huge gallery doodle wall\, complete guided activity sheets\, and enjoy creature-spotting opportunities\, wax-rubbing\, papercrafts and colouring; we’ll have plenty to entertain nature and art-lovers in this sensory celebration of the beautiful green space on our doorstep. \nKatie O is a Midlands-based artist who creates large-scale murals and recently her beautiful painted hopscotches have been brightening up Newbury town centre. \nYou can visit the Wild Walls exhibition at The Base from Friday 1st August to Saturday 6th September (Open 10am – 5pm\, closed Mondays). \nAge guide: Suitable for all ages\, but made with families with children ages 5 – 9 in mind. \nFamily Day: Tue 5 Aug \nRelaxed Days: Thu 7 & Thu 21 Aug \nSongs and Stories in the Gallery: Thu 14 & Sat 23 Aug \nLearn more via the link below.
